I met Robert Peterson @caleblee81 two years ago in Miami at his exhibition during Miami Art Week/Art Basel. I continue to be inspired by his incredible art (multi-faceted creative talent), his artistic vision, his unparalleled work ethic, and above all..his humanity.
In 2019, my goal for articentric is to expose the side of the artist life that largely goes unspoken, or underrated, and that’s the PROCESS…so many people care about the PRODUCT, and often times the PRICE, but dont really see what goes into making that artist who they are, and how they operate. That ends now!
I saw Peterson share this glimpse into his soul, and I immediately asked him for permission to share it with you all.
THE FOLLOWING IS A REPOST FROM Robert Peterson’s Instagram account @CALEBLEE81:
“I am a College drop out and I’ve been homeless twice and yet I’m still here. I was 31 when I picked up a paint brush for the first time. I have no formal training, no rich parents, no celebrity endorsements, no rich investors, no major art dealers pushing my work and yet I’m still making a name for myself in this art world. Whatever your dreams and goals are, don’t give up, don’t give in, you can and you will win. Maybe not immediately but definitely, it’s going to happen.” – Robert Peterson
